Canopus artist Bomi Choi hails from South Korea and she brings a unique and resounding feel to all kinds of jazz compositions. As the leader and composer of “Bomi’s Homies,” Choi has put out several impressive albums including Bomi’s Homes (2014), Jumpin’ With B (2018) and Meeting of Minds (2016) with Mindpoly Trio. Choi has also performed and/or recorded with other marque acts such as Laura Fygi, David Wong, Jeb Patton, Sachal Vasandani, Charenée Wade, Vincent Herring, George Garzon, Billy Carter, to name a few.

Bruce Kang is a South Korean jazz bassist and composer known for his rich tone, rhythmic clarity, and deep musicality.
He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of the Arts (’16) and a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory (’18).
Throughout his career, Bruce has studied under some of the most respected names in jazz and classical music, including Dave Holland, Don Palma, Ethan Iverson, Billy Hart, Larry McKenna, Jerry Bergonzi, John Swana, David Wong, Byron Landham, Cecil McBee, John Lockwood, and Alex Claffy.
He has performed alongside renowned artists such as George Garzone, Dan Nimmer, Ethan Iverson, Benny Benack III and Ran Blake, bringing a strong and sensitive presence to the bandstand.
Bruce was awarded "Best Band" at the 2017 Bucharest International Jazz Competition, and won a Grand Prize at the 2018 PHIL Live. Bruce has performed at major international festivals and events including the Shenzen International Music Conference (2017), Panama Jazz Festival (2018), Jeonju Jazz Festival (2022), Ubud Village Jazz Festival (2022), Seoul Jazz Festa (2024), Cheonan International Jazz Street (2024/2025), Yeosu Jazz Festival (2024), Tribowl Jazz Festival (2024), Devil’s Door Jazz Festa (2024), Jeonju Mini Jazz Festival (2024/2025), and TEDxSNU (2025).
He is also featured on A Finite Time (2023), an album led by pianist Heemin Chae.
